Look closely here and you will see,
Cousins fairly drip from my family tree!
We are twenty-eight "firsts", and nobody ever
Tried to list all the seconds -- we're not that clever!

Butch and I were born just two weeks apart, the firstborn to our families; and thus became the first first cousins. This fact, in and of itself, has made us the "leaders of the pack", a heavy responsibility we take very seriously. The younger twenty-six have always respected our wisdom and experience. They come to us for counsel in all manners great and small, and invariably follow our sage advice explicitly. Right, Butch?
And if y'all believe THAT, I've got a great piece of beachfront property here in central Arizona, for sale or trade. ~laffin'~
Below you see what happened to one cousin who refused to follow our advice:

We won't name names here, or even say which branch of the family tree he fell from, but obviously it was a LONG fall! *wink*
(Actually, Lee is a very level-headed guy, and a great comfort to his siblings and cousins alike. But his hat trick is in very high demand by all the "littles" at the gatherings of the clan. And some of the daffier dames here in our community!)

Another "branch":

I think we are very fortunate that so many of us are so very close, and enjoy each others' company (and kids!) so much. Only six live out-of-state, and they are frequent visitors. So what if cousin-in-law Ted has a permanent name-tag program on his computer? Hey! Some of us are getting older here, and when the gathering grows much beyond sixty or seventy folks, we ALL get a bit confused! ~grin~

Cousin to Cousin
We're from the same shoot,
The same family tree.
Into this world we sprouted
Let's call it destiny!
It's cousin to cousin, a special thing,
A closeness with which we are tied;
You've always been there to laugh with me.
...... Or even when I've cried.
Anyway, I think it's fantastic
That you were meant to be
A part of my life, my cousin,
You'll always be special to me!

please take this graphic, made for us by Kathryn, to share. *VBS*
