March is
"Write a Letter of Appreciation"
month.

This is a subject close to my heart. Everyone seems to find the time to set pen to paper if they are UNhappy. but how many of us do the same if something makes us smile?!

It needn't be a long letter; a greeting card or postcard will work.
Just put it in writing!

If you are into email AND YOU ARE SURE that the recipient is also, email will "do".

But nothing quite takes the place of good old pen-in-hand snail mail. For one thing, snail mail never rings while you are sitting on the potty. ~grin~ For another, it can be taken out and re-read whenever the recipient is having a bad day. My Mom got such joy out of simple notes from friends when she had made them smile. She taught me to keep a box of note cards by my chair, and to use them!

Did a neighbor's child do something cute that only you saw? Tell his mom. Did a service person go that extra mile to see that you were satisfied? Tell his boss. Did a friend or neighbor do something especially kind to or for you? Tell her!!!!

As the old song says, "If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be." Light that little candle today -- spend just a few moments putting something into writing that might alter a life more than you will ever realize!!!

You will probably realize a side benefit here too. As you start looking for ways to "catch" someone being nice, you may very well find a change in your own perception of humanity. It's amazing how much there is out there to appreciate.

And, by the way, I really appreciate your taking the time to visit this page. ~smile~
