An update on Baby Harley, received from her Aunt Jen 01/16/06:
"Well, I talked to Ruby (Harley aunt also) and she said that Harley was
learning sign language at the children's hospital now. They are
teaching her to eat, and sign language, as well as other things. We were
discussing why maybe she has not learned to talk already and we think
it is (maybe) because she had the tubes in her throat for almost 20
months, since birth. Now the feeding tube is directly in her stomach.
She is still eating bacon and now has begun to eat frenchie fries. She
used to would gag if food even came toward her mouth. She also has started
drinking from her cup with a straw her special milk and any that is left
her mom feeds it to her through the thing that is in her stomach. I am
sure you all know what I am talking about.
She loves to model her little blue jeans and outfits. She is learning
to do a little dance; Wiggles that little tail of hers.
Both she and Barrett (http://www.caringbridge.org/tn/barrett) will be
3 years old in May. Harley, May 15th and Barrett, May 25th. Barrett
is still in remission as the last report I heard on her. Harley has
not even started her chemo nor had her marrow transplant. Pray that
God will do a healing and she will not have to do it. It is because of her
weight, the doctors can't start chemo on her.
She is doing good with learning her sign language, Ruby said.
