Wavin' Old Glory....

October 7th, 2001... Mikey is still doing well. His head cold has gotten better. In about 8 weeks he will go for another heart echo. He's actually taking care of dad right now. I have debilitating spinal defects, and when I'm down, Mikey helps me get dressed, combs my hair and waits on me. This morning he insisted on combing my hair AND my beard.. sticking a mirror in my face and asking, "How do ya like yourself, dad? You look prettier than I ever saw ya. I made ya look real cute."... What a Mikey! I hate not being able to go to church with him today, but sissy is taking him. Nicky Cruz is speaking at our church today.. The books "The Cross And The Switchblade" and "Run Baby Run" were written about Nicky's life. I've seen Nicky before and he's a good speaker.

Working out....

October 14th, 2001... Mikey is working out with his little weights to get some excercise and try to build up a little more strength. He's doing well, and he weighed 47 pounds this morning. Ol' dad has been down for a week and a half now, but I'm showing improvement and should be able to make it out to church alright this morning. Tammy is cooking again this afternoon (Woohoo!), so we should all return to church "fat and happy" this evening and repent from our gluttony... if we're not in a diabetic coma.

October 21st, 2001... In today's picture, Mikey is standing in the spotlight image of the flag that is projected on our garage door... Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, but my old camcorder isn't focused very well in this night shot. Mikey is still doing well. He got his flu shot this week, so we have that out of the way. We're celebrating big Bubba's birthday after morning church services, then we'll be going to the annual "Heaven Or Hell" drama at our church in the evening. Mikey is well.. God is good. Thank You, Father.

October 28th, 2001... We are downtown, by the Arkansas River in today's picture. You can see the Delta Queen Riverboat in the background behind Mikey. The weather has been fantastic. After an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, there was a lot of activity down on the river. After a parade down "the avenue", we attended the annual "Gathering" on the river, which included authentic re-enactments of the pioneer days and a real Native American pow-wow. Mikey enjoyed all the activities, going through the tepees, and he especially enjoyed entertaining the guests coming and going from the Delta Queen Riverboat. We're also celebrating our wedding anniversary (28 years.. whew!) and the older kids took us out for a nice dinner. "The Gathering" at the river continues tomorrow.

It's a beautiful sunny Lord's Day now. Tonight is the last night of the "Heaven Or Hell" drama at Evangel Temple and HUNDREDS have been saved! Mikey is doing well. God is good! Thank You, Father!
