November 4th, 2001...

Mikey always enjoys passing out the treats on "beggars night". We don't celebrate "halloween", but we do let Mikey dress as a cartoon character and pass out treats to the neighborhood kids. This year he was dressed as "Spiderman", and he "served" over 200 kids, which was fewer than last year, but still quite a lot!

Ol' dad is still having some "down time", but Mikey is doing well. God is good! Thank You, Father!

Gramma Hugs baked a special cookie
just for you, Dad! Hope it helps. ~S~

November 11th, 2001...

Mikey is celebrating the birthday of his sister-in-law, Tammy, with the rest of us this week. Mikey SURE loves Tammy! Mikey will be having some more dental work done this week. He's only six and he already needs caps. The doctors tell us that all the antibiotics and powerful medicines that he has taken is the reason that his teeth have softened and deterriorated so fast. He goes for his heart echo next month, and we're praying for another miracle.. that God will heal his heart completely and stop the calcification of the donor valve in his heart.
Right now, Mikey is doing well. God is good! Thank You, Father!

Quadruple Award Winner!

November 18th, 2001... In the mid-term awards ceremony for kindergarten thru 3rd grade, first-grader Mikey Moore picked up FOUR awards: The Student Of The Month Award, Perfect Attendance Award, Perfect Grades and Perfect Behavior Awards. He received ALL "O"s on his report card. First-graders are awarded Os for "outstanding", the highest mark achievable. This same day, Mikey's SAT (Stanford Achievement Test) scores were released, revealing that he has scored in the upper 90 percentile (WELL above average) in ALL areas. Yeah Mikey! We're very proud of him.

Last night, Mikey and family went to see Mike Bowling and The Crabb Family in concert at our church. The Crabb Family is the number one southern gospel group in the country right now. We all enjoyed the great gospel music. Mister Ed kept busy ushering, working security and helping out where needed, but he managed to pick up 3 cds for us all to enjoy. It's been a great week.. and thursday, Tammy will be cookin' up a Thanksgiving feast for.. oh, probably about 20 of us! And we have SO much to be thankful for. God is good.
Thank You, Father.

Mikey got a LOT of congratulations on sweeping the boards with awards.
When I sent them on, Mikey sent the sweetest acknowledgement!! *VBS*

November 25th, 2001... Mikey and family had a wonderful Thanksgiving, AND... a lot to be thankful for. Sissy cooked us up a good breakfast to start
the day off right. Most, if not all of us, skipped lunch.. saving room for the feast ahead. We all know how good Tammy's cooking is, and we all wanted to be able to at least sample a little bit of every dish. And she didn't disappoint us. Every dish was special. My favorite was the sweet potato pie, and I made sure I got
to take the remainder of the pie home with me!

After dark, we all went over to Sissy and Mr. Ed's to see their outdoor light display. And late in the evening, everyone was still talking about the culinary excellence of our host. Mikey sure enjoyed all the company. His big brother, Joey, stayed with us from Wednesday until Saturday night. He had a ball with Joe, but he was sure sad when Joe left.

Our weather had been really nice and warm, up until Friday evening.... The air was a little TOO warm Friday... it collided with a cold front, triggering an outbreak of tornadoes that killed four people at last report.

Thank you Father for another great Thanksgiving with Mikey.
Thank You for keeping him safe and at home with us.
