January 13th, 2002... In today's picture, Mikey is having his New Year's "good luck"
brunch. It's a southern tradition. Eat hog jowls, black-eyed peas, cabbage and corn bread at
the beginning of the new year and you're "supposed" to have good luck for the rest of the year.
Hehe.... well, our family will put OUR faith in The Lord!
But, it IS a fun tradition, and Sissy cooked us up a pretty tasty "good luck meal" there!
From last week: Our family needs your prayers. The Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility (TEFRA)
program is the only way Mikey has to receive medical treatment now. He is being scheduled for
a heart catheterization this spring, with life-saving open-heart surgery to follow. TEFRA is
for critically ill, or terminally ill children, who cannot get insurance because of their
pre-existing conditions. Arkansas has decided to CANCEL the TEFRA program at the end of June.
We know that Arkansas will not just allow these children to die. We believe they will be moved
to other programs.
Thanks so much. God has so mightily blessed our family! He ALWAYS rewards our faithfullness.

January 20th, 2002... In today's picture, Mikey has found a couple of good-lookin' girls
to swim with at the local Holiday Inn. Actually, Mikey's Uncle Rusty and Aunt Carol from
Missouri are here for the weekend, so he went swimming with them and his cousins in their
motel's pool. Mikey loves swimming and he loves company!

January 27th, 2002... Mikey looks like a little "Ayatollah" in today's picture! He's
playing with the soap from his bubble bath.. getting scrubbed up for Sunday church services.
The weather has been nice... sunny 60s to mid 70s. Mikey loves Sunday School. He hasn't missed
a sunday school class since being released from the hospital. God is good. We're enjoying every
day we have with Mikey. Thank You, Father.
