December 1st, 2002... In today's picture, Mikey is yucking it up with the gang after Thanksgiving dinner at Big Bubba and Tammy's house. Tammy made "the feast" again this year. And as usual, every dish was special.. from the tender 23 pound smoked turkey, to the sweet potato pie I took home with me!
Mikey is doing well, although we both have colds right now. Our weather went from 75° and sunny to 55° and windy in a day's time, and I think we'll blame our colds on the sudden change. After a nice dinner with Sissy and Mister Ed last night, they took Mikey bowling and he WON the first game (Ed eked out the last game). Later we toured some of the pretty Christmas lights, and then we went out and watched the UAFS Lions basketball game... another full day for Mikey.

December 8th, 2002... Mikey is READY for Christmas. In today's picture, he is pointing at a picture of the lighted nativity scene on our front patio. Last night he got to ride on the Christmas Express.. a little train that goes around "Creekmore", one of our local parks. The park is all lit with thousands of lights and Christmas displays. The park is filled with Christmas music from loud speakers, and the train is covered with Christmas lights, and it makes a circle around the park, so the riders can see all the lights from the train ride. Train tickets are just 25 cents! And there are trolley cars that leave the park and take vistors for Christmas light tours around the downtown area. Mikey got his money's worth!

December 15th, 2002... Mikey and his girlfriend, Mazie, are making Christmas cookies in today's picture. Saturday was a beautiful day, and later, Sissy and Mister Ed came over for pizza and movies and helped the kids make cookies. Today, we're expecting about 70° and more sunshine.. Hallelujah! It can stay this way for the rest of the winter!

December 22nd, 2002... Christmas time.. and Mikey is ready! Today we're having candlelight communion and the toddler's program at our church, and tonight is the adult drama, "The Day The Angels Flew". Tuesday night, Christmas eve, we eat homemade chili and open presents.. Hallelujah!
Note: We may take a little "vacation from the internet", but we'll be back online January 1st.. 2003!

Mikey is doing VERY well. God is good! All the time! Mikey is scheduled to see his cardiologists again next month. But first, we are expecting to have another GREAT Christmas with Mikey. We don't do "santa" at our house. We reserve this season of the year for our family to reflect on the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and what his life, death on the cross, and resurrection means to all of us.
Remember that He is the reason for the season, and please, please.. don't take Christ out of Christmas. And don't replace Him with an "x". I know of no other word that we sabotage with an "x".. Xmas, no.. it's Christmas!

December 29th, 2002... In today's picture, you can see Mikey singing in his school Christmas program. Our family had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. 2002 is coming to an end now, and it has been a great year for Mikey and family. Thank You, Lord! And Happy New Year, everyone!
Peg's note: Rick and Mikey have final say on how this page turns out,
so I asked Rick how Mikey felt about the wee angels flitting about,
and this is what Mikey said!! (CLICK HERE)
