March 2nd, 2003... Other than a nasty cold, Mikey is fine. Today's pictures show Mikey goofing off with the team mascot, at the last home game for the UAFS Lion's basketball team. Mikey is going to miss going to the games. He loves to root for the Lions. He's already asking if he can go to their BASEBALL games this year. And, Lord willing, we will!
The weather has been changing so often, we all have colds right now. It's been gray and rainy all week, here in the "sunbelt", so we're all looking forward for the sunshine to return.
We've come such a long way with Mikey, and we're SO grateful and SO blessed! Thank you all for your prayers.

March 9th, 2003... Mikey is well! Sunny 60s and 70s are back, and outdoor activities are on! In today's picture, Mikey is keeping watch on the grill at Sissy and Mister Ed's. Hopefully, winter is past, our "spring colds" have about run their course and the nice weather will remain.
March 16th, 2003... 75° and sunny.. Perfect day for a baseball game. Mikey is doing fine, and he is really enjoying the nice weather. Mikey loves to watch "his" Lions play, so after we did a little work on the lawn, we headed out to the ballpark. It was a particularly enjoyable game for dad, because our hometown team was playing my OLD hometown team.. The Fort Smith, Arkansas Lions versus the Marshalltown, Iowa Tigers. I wasn't sure who to root for, until the Lions got way ahead.. then it was easy. They play 2 doubleheaders, Saturday and Sunday.
Mikey will be starting spring break this week. WE LOVE SPRING!
March 23rd, 2003... Can you see the rainbow behind Mikey in this week's picture? The weather has been SO nice. We had a brief thunderstorm come through and drop a little rain, but it left a beautiful rainbow behind... God's promise not to destroy the world by flood again. The rainbow had been so bright, and the colors were so vivid, but it had faded by the time we got the camera located and got outside to take the shot.
Mikey is fine, and he's making plans for his "Spring Break". He's actually ON break right now, but he won't be able to implement any of his "plans" until later in the week.
March 30th, 2003... Mikey is well, and he's been on Spring Break! Mikey took advantage of his break by visiting his Aunt Carol and Uncle Rusty in Kansas City. He loves to swim, and he got in plenty of pool time. In the picture on the right, Mikey is in a rain forest... actually, he's in the "RainForest" restaurant in K.C.. great food in a unique atmosphere. Another place Mikey REALLY enjoyed was a family fun park inside a large mall, called "Jeepers". LOTS of fun rides!
We've come such a long way with Mikey, and we're SO grateful and SO blessed! Thank you all for your prayers. WE feel like Mikey is doing very well right now. His doctors will still schedule him for a heart catheterization at the end of this school year.. late May to early June.
Thank You, Lord, for sending us Mikey. Thank You for looking out for him and keeping him safe. Thank You for Mikey's life, and the wonderful Christian witness that he has. God is good!
