December 5th, 2004... AquaMan Mikey! In today's pic, Mikey is getting one of those "Aqua Massages" at the local mall. I'd climb in there too, if I wasn't worried about messing up my spine worse than it already is.. Sure looks relaxing. The operator is real nice to Mikey and has given him several complimentary massages when we've been out at the mall. CHRISTmas is coming!


December 12th, 2004... [click on pictures above to view full size] All aboard the Holiday Express! Mikey is riding the "express train" in today's picture. Every year, one of our local parks is wonderfully lit with Christmas lights. They have a little train that you ride around the park to view all the lights. Everything is free, including the hot chocolate. WE LIKE FREE, and the hot chocolate is really good!

CHRISTmas is coming!

Mikey got his pacemaker checked again this week, and everything checked out alright. He is still walking every day, and he is doing SO well.. Thank You, Lord.

December 17th, 2004... Surprise, surprise, it's "UNCLE" Mikey now! Mikey's big sissy, Rhonda, surprised us with the greatest early Christmas gift... Emily Nicole, 6 lbs 14 oz and 19.5 inches long... our first grandchild! (expected Jan 3rd).. Sooo.. we HAD to update a little early this week.

Another big surprise was the WAY Emily was delivered. The doctor allowed Rhonda to complete the delivery. She actually pulled the baby from her body, lifted her and placed her on her chest, then cut the umbilical cord.. a beautiful thing to SEE, and we now have a PRICELESS video to cherish! December 26th, 2004... Merry CHRISTmas! In today's picture, you can see Mikey, mom and grandma grappling over who gets to hold baby Emily, and it looks like Mikey is winning. And look at all those desserts in the foreground! Our CHRISTmas was GREAT, made even better by the early arrival of little Emily. And today is Emily's dedication at our church.

We had a little trouble getting Mikey's brother Joey and sister-in-law Brittney here for CHRISTmas... their flight was delayed out of Indiana, then they got stranded in Memphis when their flight there was cancelled, then.. they were diverted to Dallas, where their connecting flight left early without all their passengers! We finally went and picked them up, a day late, in another airport, 100 miles northwest of here.

Mikey is doing SO well. He will see his cardiologists again next month, but we're expecting a good report. He had his pacemaker checked, and everything checked out alright. He is still walking every day, and he is doing SO well.. Thank You, Lord.

Last trip to Little Rock, we got a GOOD report from Mikey's heart doctors.. thank You, Lord! After increasing one of Mikey's heart medications, it seems to have lessened the leakage in his mitral valve, and lowered his fast heart rate (sinus tachycardia) some as well. Doc says if Mikey keeps doing this well, he may not have to come back again for another 6 months!

T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today!
God is Good!
