January 2nd, 2005... Happy New Year 2005! In today's picture, Mikey and Aunt Carol are eating their ham, cabbage, beans and cornbread meal.. a southern tradition, that, when eaten at the beginning of the new year, is supposed to bring good luck.. hehe. There was also time for eating at our mall's food court...

...and swimming at the Holiday Inn...


On a more somber note, we're all shocked and saddened to say that we lost Mikey's heart surgeon during the holidays. Dr. Drummond-Webb was a great surgeon.

Mikey is doing SO well. He will see his cardiologists again next month, but we're expecting a good report. He had his pacemaker checked, and everything checked out alright. He is still walking every day, and he is doing SO well.. Thank You, Lord.

January 9th, 2005... Keeping one of his New Year's resolutions, Mikey is hittin' the treadmill! We had such a BLESSED 2004, and 2005 is starting out great, especially since the arrival of Baby Emily. There's not a prouder uncle around than Uncle Mikey....

... Mikey can't go a day without seeing his little niece. He holds her, feeds her, and gives her lots of hugs and kisses.

Mikey will see his cardiologists in Little Rock in about 8 weeks. We are all shocked and saddened to have lost Mikey's heart surgeon during the holidays. Dr. Drummond-Webb was a great surgeon. Mikey is doing SO well since his most recent heart surgery (June). He is still walking every day, and he is doing SO well.. Thank You, Lord.

Last trip to Little Rock, we got a GOOD report from Mikey's heart doctors.. thank You, Lord! After increasing one of Mikey's heart medications, it seems to have lessened the leakage in his mitral valve, and lowered his fast heart rate (sinus tachycardia) some as well. Doc says if Mikey keeps doing this well, he may not have to come back again for another 6 months!

T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today! God is Good!
