October 2nd, 2005... The first week of october.. the hurricanes are gone and our state fair is ending. In today's picture you can see Mikey at the fair with Emily, Patrick and Sissy. Two of their favorite rides are the octopus and the tornado. Emily had a great time for her very first fair, and grandpa got to take her on her first ferris-wheel ride! October 9th, 2005... Today's picture finds Mikey at Oktoberfest.. pigging out on a bratwurst sandwich, saurkraut, potato salad and apple strudel with ice cream.. German food, of course, it's Oktoberfest! The weather has been so nice, we took Mikey out to the park the last 2 days to enjoy the festivities. October is a busy month for us.. birthdays, anniversaries, fall festivals, and of course basketball will start next month, followed by the holiday season. Mikey is well. God is good!

October 16th, 2005... With sunny dry days and temps in the upper 80s, it has been perfect weather to spend time at some of our local parks, and that is just what we have been doing! Today's pictures find Mikey riding a little train with nephew Hayden AND with niece Emily at Creekmore Park. Both kids like swinging at the park AND the train rides.. 2 trips around the park for a quarter.. even ol' grandpa can afford that! Mikey is well. God is good!

October 23rd, 2005... Fall is here, and today's picture finds Mikey at his school's annual Fall Festival. He's clowning around in a "turtle" hat that he had just won at one of the game booths. We're just now getting a break from 90°+ temps, and much cooler air is arriving to make it feel more like fall. Our fall colors haven't arrived yet, but they should be prevalent by mid november. At church our annual "Heaven Or Hell" drama is happening now, and HUNDREDS are making decisions for Christ! Mikey is well. God is good!

October 30th, 2005... Mikey is reminding everyone that the fall time change ("fall back" an hour) went into effect today. If you missed Mikey's audio message, you can hear it here, although it may not be timely now, but you still may need to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Mikey is well. God is good!

Mikey is well. He has been to Little Rock to see his cardiologists and got a great report, thank You, Lord! He had ekgs, a pacemaker clinic and a heart echo done, and everything looked fine. The dacron conduit in his heart is clear and the porcine valve is working well for him. He still has "heart rub" and a leaky mitral valve, but medication is controlling the sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate), and we are all very happy with Mikey's progress since his latest heart surgery last summer.

T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today!
God is Good!
