Mikey's homepage (from whence these pages are born) has a new home for the new year! Please visit MIKEY'S MIRACLE

January 1st, 2006... Happy New Year! What a great start for 2006.. a sunny 75° Lord's Day.. PERFECT!!! In today's picture, Mikey can be seen with Uncle Rusty and Aunt Carol at the zoo in Kansas City. Mikey REALLY took advantage of his holiday break from school. After the CHRISTmas celebration at our house, we drove to Kansas City and spent several days with his Uncle Rusty and Aunt Carol and Alex (the labrador). They made us VERY comfortable, and fed us good.. and entertained us! Mikey got to see the "Narnia" movie there, then he went to an indoor amusement park in one of their large malls, and later we all went to the Kansas City Zoo. The weather was perfect for walking through the zoo. After leaving KC, we headed for Branson, MO (which is only 150 miles from home). It was sunny and 72° when we got there.. BEAUTIFUL! While there (among other things), we visited Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Dolly Parton's Dixieland Stampede to dine and see their CHRISTmas show. Mikey is doing so well, and we are thankful that he was able to have so much fun during the holidays. SEE all the photos in our Holiday 2005 Photo Album HERE After church this afternoon, we'll be having our traditional "Hoppin' John" New Years meal.. a variation of the "southern" hog jowels, black-eyed peas, cooked cabbage, and cornbread. Mom will cook the pork and Sissy will bake the cornbread.. We LOVE this time of year! God is good!

Peg's note: Of COURSE I had a favorite pic!! ~laffin'~

January 8th, 2006.. Mikey is still doing well. God is good! In today's photo, Mikey is pictured with niece Emily, Sissy & Mister Ed at our local bowling alley. The weather has been so nice (sunny, near 80° forecast today), we have been out a lot. You can see Mikey and Emily enjoying their "new year's meal" here. Emily also loves to stroll through the mall with Mikey and family, and ride the little kiddie rides.. we got another good pic!

January 15th, 2006... Mikey is still doing well. God is good! In today's photo, Mikey is pictured with mom and Patrick at the basketball game. Our Fort Smith Lions are still winning.. 9 in a row now. And our Arkansas Razorbacks won yesterday as well. Mikey's buddy, Pastor Don, made it back from the Hogs game in time to watch the Lions' win last night too. He likes the Lions' as well as Mikey does.. this is his 3rd Lions' game this week!

January 22nd, 2006... Mikey is still doing well. God is good! The photo above was taken by Mister Ed at Grandma Rachel's house last night. We had all just returned from Logan's Roadhouse, one of our local steak houses, where we had a great time, and of course we ate copious amounts of food until we were all uncomfortably full! Earlier in the day we attended the auditions for CBS' Survivor show.. over 100 contestants.. that was fun! Our weather has been unseasonably mild with many 70° days, so we are still getting out a lot... and spoiling grand-daughter Emily. One day last week we went to 3 different parks in one day... making use of all the playground equipment and having a picnic lunch. In the photo below, you can see Mikey at the restaurant with the 4 generations of girls: Baby Emily, Mom Rhonda, Grandma Dee Dee and Great Grandma Rachel:

January 29th, 2006... Mikey is still doing well, and.. he still loves Lions' basketball ..UAFS Lions(University of Arkansas Fort Smith). In today's picture you can see Mikey with his buddy, Pastor Don, at this weeks game. The Lions won again, for their 13th consecutive win. At 18-2, they are ranked 3rd in the nation!! Mikey likes the ball games about as well as he likes barbecue.. hehe. He's been on a BBQ binge for a while now, so we picked up some barbecue from Wild Horse Mountain BBQ (a popular eaterie in our area) this week and brought some home for him and his brother Joey.
Mikey is doing well. He had a pacemaker check last week, and everything looks fine. He will be making an appointment with his cardiologists in Little Rock in just a few weeks. They have a new surgery team there that will perform Mikey's next heart surgery. It's hard to believe, as healthy as Mikey appears now, that he is still so very ill. The expectation is still that his life will "be short". That's what this page is about. Thousands of wonderful people have visited Mikey's page and prayed for him. Many have been inspired, blessed, and even found Jesus through this simple page. It's suprising how many emails we have received from "back-slidden" couples and families who have returned to church after being inspired by Mikey's simple page. To God be the glory. It's all about Him.
Mikey IS well. His last trip to Little Rock he saw his cardiologists and got a great report, thank You, Lord! He had ekgs, a pacemaker clinic and a heart echo done, and everything looked fine. The dacron conduit in his heart is clear and the porcine valve is working well for him. He still has "heart rub" and a leaky mitral valve, but medication is controlling the sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate), and we are all very happy with Mikey's progress since his latest heart surgery last summer.
T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today!
God is Good!

While you are here, Please sign Mikey's guestbook.
