March 5th, 2006... In the pictures above, Mikey is in "Hog Heaven"... actually sitting at the scorer's table at the UAFS Lions basketball game! How cool is that! And, he's wearing headphones and talking on the radio to the announcer, as "they" call the game! It was Evangel Temple night (our church) at the Stubblefield Center. Pastor Don got to sit on the bench and they asked Mikey to sit at the scorer's table and represent Evangel Temple. We didn't make it to the barber shop before the game, but Mikey's sister-in-law, Brittney cut his hair. And.. for a registered nurse, she makes a pretty good barber.... Thanks Britt!

March 12th, 2006... Mikey is well, thank You, Lord. It was the last home basketball game of the year for Mikey's Lions (UA Fort Smith).. And Mikey is pictured above with niece Emily at the game. Emily is a fan too. She just loves going with us to the games.
Spring is certainly here, but along with the pretty flowers and green lawns, come the severe storms and tornadoes. We can use the rain though, to fill our water reservoirs and end the burn bans. We DO love this time of year.. barbecues, picnics, miniature golf, parks, Lions' BASEBALL.. we're doin' it ALL!

March 19th, 2006... Lions (UA Fort Smith) BASEBALL season has begun! Mikey is well, thank You, Lord. In the photo above, Mikey is pictured with niece Emily at the ballpark. It was a double-header and the Lions won both games. They were playing our old hometown team from Iowa. While the "Iowans" may not have been thrilled with the outcome of the games, they did enjoy our summer-like weather, and we made some new friends. Mikey and family may prefer basketball, but we also enjoy being outdoors at the ballpark, eatin' burgers off the grill and soaking up the sun and fresh air. And it's always nice to be on the winning team... Witness that big smile on little fan Emily's face!

March 26th, 2006... Mikey is still doing well, and he's been
on Spring Break, traveling in the F.O.G. (the Favor Of God). We were
traveling up north, and had good weather in spite of all the forecasts
for inclement weather. After visiting Uncle Rusty and Aunt Carol in
Kansas City, we visited friends in Iowa, then spent another night in
Kansas City on the way back south, then drove on to Branson, Missouri.
We visited Branson's newest attraction, The Titanic. In the photo
above, Mikey can be seen across the street from Titanic. In the photo
below, Mikey and mom can seen on the "Grand Staircase" aboard Titanic.
Some of you may recognize the staircase from the movie. When you enter
Titanic, you are given a boarding pass and you assume the identity of an
actual Titanic passenger. You can touch the iceberg, sit in the
lifeboats, dip your hands in the 28° water, etc.. It's very
interactive and realistic with over 400 real artifacts salvaged from the
wreckage. In the end you find out if "you" perish or survive.

While in
Branson, we also saw Jim
Stafford, Doug Gabriel, and
Kirby VanBurch, and went to the
Imax Theater there. Kirby VanBurch is the magician who uses tigers,
leopards and panthers, and is well known for making a helicopter appear.
All good family entertainment. Doug and Kirby both make a point in their
performances to acknowledge Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. On
the way home, we also stopped in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, visiting some
of the old shoppes, the famous Basin Park Hotel where
all 7 floors are ground level (Ripley's), and the "haunted" Crescent Hotel. Next to the
outdoor theater for the Great Passion Play, we got this picture of Mikey at
the Christ Of The Ozarks.
Mikey & Family have had SUCH a busy week! Last night in Hutchinson, Kansas, Mikey's UA Fort Smith Lions WON the NJCAA National Championship! WE'RE THE NATIONAL CHAMPS! And now this weekend is the big Fort Smith Airshow.. over
200,00 are expected to attend! Here's a pic of Mikey entering one of the big planes!
Mikey is doing well, thank You, Lord! He saw his pediatrician last week, and he'll be going back to Little Rock next month to see his cardiologists again.
T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today
God is Good!
Mikey is doing so well. He had a pacemaker check recently, and everything looks fine. He will be making an appointment with his cardiologists in Little Rock in just a few weeks. They have a new surgery team there that will perform Mikey's next heart surgery. It's hard to believe, as healthy as Mikey appears now, that he is still so very ill. The expectation is still that his life will "be short". That's what this page is about. Thousands of wonderful people have visited Mikey's page and prayed for him. Many have been inspired, blessed, and even found Jesus through these simple pages. It's suprising how many emails we have received from "back-slidden" couples and families who have returned to church after being inspired by Mikey's simple pages. To God be the glory. It's all about Him.
Mikey IS well. His last trip to Little Rock he saw his cardiologists and got a great report, thank You, Lord! He had ekgs, a pacemaker clinic and a heart echo done, and everything looked fine. The dacron conduit in his heart is clear and the porcine valve is working well for him. He still has "heart rub" and a leaky mitral valve, but medication is controlling the sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate), and we are all very happy with Mikey's progress since his latest heart surgery last summer.

While you are here, Please sign Mikey's guestbook.
Thank you!!!
