May 7th, 2006... May is certainly off to a busy start for Mikey and family. We had 2 birthdays to celebrate this week ..Joey (Mikey's bro) and Dee Dee (Mikey's mom) pictured with the family in the photo above.. enter barbecue, cake and ice cream. Friday of course, was Cinco de Mayo.. and mexican food. Yesterday was the carnival downtown, with great fun.. and great foods like deep-fried twinkies and oreos, and my favorite.. orange-hawaiin pie! Mikey is pictured piggin' out at the carnival in the photo below. This afternoon is the barbecue cookoff at our church. Next is Mother's Day, and yet ANOTHER reason to EAT!
Mikey is well.. God is good!

T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today!
God is Good!

05/08 Our friend Bobby in Arizona has "graduated" to Heaven. Please pray for Bobby's family. They have been so kind and such great friends to Mikey and family for a number of years now.

May 14th, 2006... HAPPY MOM'S DAY!
We have received the results of Mikey's heart monitoring, and we're pleased that everything seems to be alright now. Did we mention Mister Ed took 2nd place in our church's barbecue cook-off last week? (missed 1st place by only a few votes) Mikey is pictured with mom (above) as she opens her card at the restaurant where we took her for Mother's Day. We spent yesterday afternoon and evening at the Old Timer's Day Festival.. which is always QUITE an event.. lots of entertainment, fun, and foods.. like alligator, texas tumbleweed, cinnamon-roasted pecans and banana split pie! There was lots of great entertainment, headlined by Bobby Bare, who did all his big hits. We're not big country-western fans, but we do like the funny stuff he does, like "The Numbers Song" "Marie Laveau" "The Winner" "The Mermaid Song" etc. etc. Mikey got an arm band for unlimited rides, and you can see him on one of the rides in the picture below.
Mikey is well.. God is good!

May 21st, 2006... In today's picture, Mikey can be seen helping dad water the lawn. Temperatures have been in the mid 90s here.. above average for May, browning our lawns already. Only 9 more school days are left before Mikey goes on summer break!

May 28th, 2006... Memorial weekend.. a time of remembrance... a time to honor those who have gone on before us.
Mikey is still doing well, thank You, Lord. It's still hot and dry here, but Mikey and family are having a very enjoyable weekend, and it's just begun! We had a nice barbecue with family last night.. watched home videos after dinner (mostly starring our little beauty, Mikey's niece, Emily). In the photo above, Mikey and Emily are yucking it up and getting into the Cheetos before dinner is ready! Looking forward to the rest of the week..and then Mikey will be out of school for the summer and all the fun that entails.. It's wonderful to live in the FOG (Favor Of God)!

Mikey is doing well. He has regular pacemaker checks via phone modem, and he visits his cardiologists in Little Rock. They have a new surgery team there that will perform Mikey's next heart surgery. It's hard to believe, as healthy as Mikey appears now, that he is still so very ill. The expectation is still that his life will "be short". That's what this page is about. Thousands of wonderful people have visited Mikey's page and prayed for him. Many have been inspired, blessed, and even found Jesus through these simple pages. It's suprising how many emails we have received from "back-slidden" couples and families who have returned to church after being inspired by Mikey's simple pages. To God be the glory. It's all about Him.
Mikey IS well. His last trip to Little Rock he saw his cardiologists and got a great report, thank You, Lord! He had ekgs, a pacemaker clinic and a heart echo done, and everything looked fine. The dacron conduit in his heart is clear and the porcine valve is working well for him. He still has "heart rub" and a leaky mitral valve, but medication is controlling the sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate), and we are all very happy with Mikey's progress since his latest heart surgery last summer.

While you are here, Please sign Mikey's guestbook.
Thank you!!!
