September 3rd, 2006... Happy Labor Day... September already, and Mikey is still THRIVING, thank You, Lord! It has FINALLY cooled down some here and we're able to spend more time outdoors with the kids. In today's picture, Mikey and Emily are playing out in our front yard. This afternoon is our BIG church outing and picnic at the park.. BARBECUE with all the fixins.. games and family fun.. It's wonderful to live in the FOG! (Favor Of God)

September 10th, 2006... God is good.. Mikey is doing SO well. Our temps have dropped from the 100s to around 90° with lower humidities, making outdoor activities much more enjoyable. The photo above was taken at our church picnic... Mikey, Emily and Rhonda at one of the tables. We took turns pulling Emily in her wagon,

and we played Pastor Don's "brand" of "Simon Sez" among other games... Pastor Don is the best! Mikey and family have also been visiting a new wildlife center that just opened here in town.
Mikey liked the deer,

while Emily preferred the bear, and the bobcat... which is my favorite picture.

The stuffed bobcat's mouth was open in a growl and Emily bent over and tried to emulate the bobcat! There are 6 different walking trails you can take to see different types of wildlife, and and as of yesterday, we have walked them all now. Life is good walking in the FOG! (Favor Of God).

September 17th, 2006... God is good.. Mikey is doing SO well. In today's picture, Mikey is playing with niece Emily over at their house. Emily is showing grandpa her little pink sunglasses. Mikey is so excited about a new "arrival" we are expecting... Soon there will be another grandchild for us.. a nephew for Mikey! Mikey's big sister Rhonda is promising us a little boy. Her baby shower is this afternoon after church. After feeling Rhonda's belly when the baby is rambunctious, I can tell ya that "grandpa's little tough guy" can really kick! ..Can't wait to take him to the ballgames! Tonight at church, after losing the attendance contest to the girls, the men will treat the ladies to an ice cream social.. various ice creams and toppings. The contest is always the men versus the women. And although the men don't always win, we DO come in 2nd place! Life is good walking in the FOG! (Favor Of God).

September 23rd, 2006... STATE FAIR TIME! God is good.. Mikey is doing SO well. He will get his pacemaker checked again this week. The Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair in Fort Smith just started and will run for 9 days. Rhonda snapped the photo above.. Mikey, Emily and dad resting on a bench (and snacking) between rides at the fair. It was 95° when we got there, but some storms came through just to the north of us.. cooling us down, but not getting us wet. It didn't actually rain AT the fairgrounds until AFTER we left. It just cooled us down into the upper 70s! Life is good when you're walking in the FOG! (Favor Of God). It was perfect FAIR weather, and the kids rode all the rides (and grandpa rode some, too!). We were having too much fun to take a lot of pics, but Mister Ed and Rhonda got some good ones.
And the FOOD.. always a big part of the fair.. funnel cakes, smoked turkey legs, bloomin' onions, etc. etc.
Mikey and mom like the roasted corn-on-the-cob. Rhonda sat out most of the rides, but she did EAT good! Below, is one of the pics from her baby shower:

T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today! God is Good!
Mikey is doing well. He has regular pacemaker checks via phone modem, and he visits his cardiologists in Little Rock. They have a new surgery team there that will perform Mikey's next heart surgery. It's hard to believe, as healthy as Mikey appears now, that he is still so very ill. The expectation is still that his life will "be short". That's what this page is about. Thousands of wonderful people have visited Mikey's page and prayed for him. Many have been inspired, blessed, and even found Jesus through these simple pages. It's suprising how many emails we have received from "back-slidden" couples and families who have returned to church after being inspired by Mikey's simple pages. To God be the glory. It's all about Him.
Mikey IS well. His last trip to Little Rock he saw his cardiologists and got a great report, thank You, Lord! He had ekgs, a pacemaker clinic and a heart echo done, and everything looked fine. The dacron conduit in his heart is clear and the porcine valve is working well for him. He still has "heart rub" and a leaky mitral valve, but medication is controlling the sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate), and we are all very happy with Mikey's progress since his latest heart surgery last summer.

While you are here, Please sign Mikey's guestbook.
Thank you!!!
