October 1st, 2006... At the State Fair again! Mikey is still thriving. He had his pacemaker checked out again this last week. Our October is starting out a bit warm.. 95° today, with 90s forecast for the next 7 days. The Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair in Fort Smith is winding down now. Mikey and family got to go to the fair 3 times this year. In the photo above, Mikey and Emily are riding in the motor boats. In the photo farthest below, they're riding the "Pink Elephants". Among other rides, they enjoyed the little train, and Emily got to ride on a real pony

w/grandma. It was all fun and games up until the one night we went to see a show in the grandstand, and.. this old grandpa fell OFF the grandstand, head first to the concrete below. It was a LONG fall, but MIRACULOUSLY, I walked out of the emergency room 6 hours later on my own 2 feet... (injured back, arm in a sling), but extremely thankful for the parts of me that are still working. If y'all had seen me survive THIS fall, you'd surely agree, we ARE walking in the FOG (Favor Of God)!

October 8th, 2006... Mikey is thriving! In the photo above, Mikey is playing on the backyard slide with niece Emily and his neighbor buddy Dillon... fully enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather we're having. There are so many outdoor events happening now.. bluesfest in one park today.. dog show in another park.. charity barbecue in another park, and our church's Fun Fest at "Grand Slam" (unlimited mini-golf, go-karts, batting cages, etc). The state fair is over and all the october outdoor "fests" are lining up for the rest of this month. What a great time of the year. God is good. LIFE is good when you're walking in the FOG (Favor Of God)!

October 15th, 2006... Mikey is well.. thank You, Lord!! In the photo above, Mikey is getting ready to ride a real trolley in the historic district, here in downtown Fort Smith. He got to sit right up front with the conductor. Saturday, Mikey went to Fall Fest, where he met this neat little yorkie in shades! He also got to go on the carnival rides, and assist a magician in his magic act. And then there was also Oktoberfest for Mikey this week (Click HERE to see those pictures.) ... And tonight our church's BIG "Heaven or Hell" drama begins, and we're expecting over a thousand people to get saved! What a great time of the year... STILL enjoying the end of summer... State Fair in Little Rock runs through the end of October.. hmmm. God is good. LIFE is good when you're walking in the FOG (Favor Of God)!

October 22nd, 2006... Mikey is still thriving.. thank You, Lord! In the photo above, Mikey and buddy Dillon are playing ball in our back yard. The weather has been good and we've been spending a lot of time outdoors. Yesterday we mowed lawn, trimmed, weeded and fertilized.. we shouldn't have to mow TOO many more times this year as the weather will be cooling down. Our annual "Heaven Or Hell" drama at church has been successful again.. saturday night was the last night, and MANY made decisions for Christ. God is good. LIFE is good when you're walking in the FOG (Favor Of God)!

October 29th, 2006... Did you "fall back"? In the photo above, Mikey and Emily are reminding you of the time change.. "spring forward/fall back". Did YOU set your clocks back an hour? ALSO, you should replace the batteries in your smoke alarms. Mikey is still thriving.. thank You, Lord! Our weather has been great and we're still enjoying the outdoors. Our "Frontier Fest" on the river is on this weekend. Earlier this week we visited a new shopping center north of here called the "Promenade".. 125 acres of shopping with a lot of new stores unique to our area. In the pic below, you can see Emily and mom heading toward the Promenade's Food Pavillion. Little Emily LOVED the "Orange Julius" drink. She drank hers, plus a lot of mine and her mom's! We also marked our 33rd wedding anniversary this week at a local steakhouse and topped off the evening at a new ice cream parlor, where I DISCOVERED chocolate raspberry trouffle! God is good. LIFE is good when you're walking in the FOG (Favor Of God)!

T.G.I.S. .. Thank God It's SONday, and we get to go to church today! God is Good!

Mikey is doing well. He has regular pacemaker checks via phone modem, and he visits his cardiologists in Little Rock. They have a new surgery team there that will perform Mikey's next heart surgery. It's hard to believe, as healthy as Mikey appears now, that he is still so very ill. The expectation is still that his life will "be short". That's what this page is about. Thousands of wonderful people have visited Mikey's page and prayed for him. Many have been inspired, blessed, and even found Jesus through these simple pages. It's suprising how many emails we have received from "back-slidden" couples and families who have returned to church after being inspired by Mikey's simple pages. To God be the glory. It's all about Him.

Mikey IS well. His last trip to Little Rock he saw his cardiologists and got a great report, thank You, Lord! He had ekgs, a pacemaker clinic and a heart echo done, and everything looked fine. The dacron conduit in his heart is clear and the porcine valve is working well for him. He still has "heart rub" and a leaky mitral valve, but medication is controlling the sinus tachycardia (fast heart rate), and we are all very happy with Mikey's progress since his latest heart surgery last summer.
