Mary Jane suffered a massive stroke today. This page will be updated only when a
significant change has occurred. She is resting comfortably, and breathing on her own.
She is currently unable to speak, or even attempt vocalization. She has total left-side
paralysis, and only minimal movement of her fingers and toes on the right side. She does
open her eyes when addressed, but seems unaware of her surroundings.
We ask your prayers that we are all able to find the strength to face whatever lies ahead.

For you....my mother, my friend. With gentle hugs.

Today Mom can make and hold - briefly - eye contact. She is still unable to verbalize,
but MAY be trying to respond to direct questions, like "Does your head hurt?" with a nod.
She is still allowed nothing by mouth, but can have her tongue and lips moistened.
Right hand grip is somewhat stronger, and there may be some reflexive reaction to leg
stimulus.
Thank you again for your prayers, please continue them. We have witnessed SO many miracles!

Here is GOOD news - just spoke w/physical therapist...he says probably 3 weeks in skilled
nursing facility "UPON RELEASE"!!!!!!!!!!! Never thought I would hear those words.

Good visit with Mom this morning, though to me she seems more "tired" than anything else.
The doctors feel at this point she is less responsive that yesterday, and are saying there
is an 80% chance that if she leaves the hospital, it will be to full-time LONG term skilled
care. I cry, but all I want is for Mom to be COMFORTABLE with what happens....and whether
it be release from her earthly body or on the road to recovery, that it be soon!!!

Mary Jane left our world yesterday, July 26th. Her passing was peaceful. My brother Storm,
sister Sue, and myself were all at her bedside when she breathed her last. We had been
able to tell her we knew how tired she was, and what a hard road she had been walking, and
that it was alright to let go now; to go home and rest with God. Thank you all for your
prayers.

Here is a very special prayer for Mom, from a very special friend:
