Read Me To The Book

"Read me to the book," she says
Before she takes her nap;
A tiny girl and tattered book
Now climb into my lap.

And so I rock a little girl
And read her to the book
Which I must hold a special way
So nursery friends can look.

"Little Bo Peep," (I turn a page)
"You'll have to stop this wiggling
If I read Ria to you now!"
(This brings contented giggling),

And as I read a little girl
And count her to the sheep,
I find it takes the longest while
To read a book to sleep!
