My fans have filled every seat,
And spilled onto the floor.
Teddy-bear paws clap softly,
But clearly say “Encore!!”
And the delighted smile
From a real poodle pup
Gives me the courage
To keep this up.
Position one; position two;
The practice hours I’ve spent
All seem worthwhile as I smile
At audience wonderment.
Button-eyes are sparkling,
They clearly do approve;
Furry faces smile in awe,
At each and every move.
Each arabesque, each deep plie’,
Are greeted with delight;
And as I make my curtain call,
This is a glorious night!
You may not see the roses
Flying through the air;
But like the adoration of bears,
I know they’re surely there!
When I’ve become more famous
And joined a traveling troupe,
I’ll always remember my first audition,
Before this appreciative group.
