(But walk softly, please!)

Me and my Buddy
Had a most 'zausting day;
We spent most of it in work,
And the rest in hard play.

First we chased off
Some pesky trouble-makers,
Then we rounded up the cattle
On the southern forty acres.

We was headin' home for lunch
When we saw outlaws holdin' up a stage,
So we rode to the rescue;
Locked those robbers in a cage!

A dam above us broke,
Water came a-rushin' down;
We raced to warn the people,
And saved everyone in town.

Then sixty-'leven indians
Rode down from yonder hill;
Me and Buddy scared 'em bad -
I bet they're runnin' still!

We stopped to take a little rest,
And play a game of chase;
But just then we were invaded
By a ship from outer space!

Zillions of green men
Were getting off that ship,
But Buddy chased them right back in,
With two barks and just one nip.

Right at dusk the cavalry called;
Needed Buddy to be a special scout.
And by the time that darkness fell
We was plumb tuckered out!
