I cherish these moments alone with you,
My darling daughter, the bride.
All too soon you'll walk down the aisle,
With your Daddy at your side.

He'll "give you away" so very soon,
To become a wonderful man's wife.
And my fondest wish for the both of you
Is to have a love-filled life.

I glance in the mirror and reflected there,
I see the child in your woman's eyes.
I look at the pictures on your wall -
It seems only yesterday you were that size!

And I spot that picture on your dresser;
How long you have treasured it there!
Your father and I stand there side by side,
With me in the veil you'll now wear.

Oh, my child, my precious child!
How hard to let you go!!
But this is the moment we've raised you for,
And you're ready for it, we know.

Now you must move on with your life today,
Know I'm happy at the same time I'm sad;
And my heart-felt hope for you, my child,
Is the contentment I've found with your Dad.

Time is fleeting; cherish each moment!
And as you move forth in your life,
I'll watch with pride as a wonderful daughter
Becomes the world's most wonderful wife!
