A Poem for Kim

Beauty comes in many packages
And many forms it will take
It may show up on the outside
Or come in a different shape

I think the kindest beauty
Is the one that shines within
That we should more often seek to find
It is found in the ‘heart of men’

By men, I mean a human soul
Stripped bare of what one can see
For beauty lies within the skin
Or it should. That much I see

A man, a child, a woman
Will so often thoughtless be
For they seek outward perfection
And that~~ is all they see

I think that when the Good Lord comes
They’ll be in for a surprise
For God will look on Judgement day
See their image with His eyes

He’ll look upon the heart of man
And see the love they had
He’ll judge the overcoming
Of each person, girl and lad

He’ll plant an extra jewel within
The crown of those he picks to stay
It will sparkle out upon the path
of Heaven that He’ll lay

There will be Kim and her Siblings
Her Mama and her Dad
He’ll give them all the blessings
They had not always had

My mother told me long ago
Real beauty lies within
And what we should be looking at
Is not found on the face of men

I think that she was very wise
I treasure her words so
Now she’s up in Heaven
I know~~ God told me so

Where else can anybody go
Who was as good as she
I pray that others like her be around
That her wisdom be found in me

I pray that those who struggle
And sometimes find life hard
Will find when they reach Heaven
God held them in high regard

There must be an extra blessing
That makes up for hurt they feel
When others do not understand
Their pain that is oh so real

So here’s a special tribute
From your honorary relative
I wish for you great happiness
May you never be made to grieve
