This is a story about age, and youth, and one remarkable lady. ~S~

Mary Jane Tucker, age 4

Mary Jane (Tucker) Digges, age 84

Mary Jane was born in 1917. She grew older. She grew wiser. But she refused to grow UP! She may have been losing her sight, but she never lost her vision.

One incident that I think demonstrates her "across the ages" outlook well, is that after Mary Jane entered eternity on July 26, 2001, services were held in Phoenix for her "city-self", and in Cordes Lakes for her "country-self". But that was not sufficient for the youth of our community. They had loved her so much, and she had such a rapport with them, that they decided to hold a bonfire and weinie roast IN HER HONOR! Not a bad accomplishment, to have lived 84 years and still be LOVED by the young people around! Joe and Kim Richardson hosted the event, There was a great turn-out, and a grand time was had by all! An exciting outcome of the evening was that the Open Arms Youth Group has decided to actively pursue a Youth Center here, in Mary Jane's memory.
