A Moment Captured
I caught this brother-sister act
One rainy afternoon;
They NEEDED some cookies,
And they needed them soon!!
Now we had often told them
Whatever wind or weather,
They'd always accomplish more
If they'd stick together!
When sibling rivalry reared its head
(And it reared it often!)
We said, "Two heads are better than one."
And their smokey eyes would soften.
So I surpressed a giggle
As I watched them in action;
Using that teamwork
To gain some satisfaction.
But one or the other
(I say with pride and fear)
Is bound to grow up to
Become an engineer.
For the very next day I saw
They had built a "drawer stairway";
Now when either wants a cookie,
They simply get it...their way!
