You see here a camel; you see here a rose.
What's the difference? Well, I suppose
There are many. But it seems to me
There are more similarities than first you see.
One needs lots of water, the other not much;
But both can be prickly to the touch.
One smells so good, the other not very;
One's soft as velvet, the other one's hairy.
The dew-drop on the soft petal you spy,
The oasis reflected in the camel's eye;
Each reflects splendors that might go unknown,
If you hurried on by, with cares of your own!
The rose gives you beauty, the softness of silk;
The camel gives service, and nourishing milk.
Which is more vital in life's grandest schemes?
Are you needing a ride? Or mending some dreams?
ALL things are important, that's very true;
Here's a bit of wisdom I'll share with you -
One thing I've learned as I've grown older:
Beauty certainly IS in the eye of the beholder!!!
